El Caballero Mayor Tepeztate Mezcal 750ml

El Caballero Mayor Tepeztate Mezcal 750ml

From the rugged mountains surrounding Santiago Matatlán, Oaxaca, comes El Caballero Mayor Tepeztate , an artisanal mezcal born from wild agave that requires up to 25 years of maturation , a treasure that grows defiantly among rocks and hillsides, and is harvested with deep respect for the land and its cycles.

Its production preserves the heritage of the master mezcaleros: the hearts of the tepeztate are slowly cooked in conical earth ovens fed with stone and firewood , ground in a traditional tahona pulled by a mule , and distilled in copper stills that capture its unique character: herbal, mineral, complex and with a fine smokiness that distinguishes this wild species.

Housed in a 750ml bottle , with a handcrafted finish and a label that honors its origin, this 43° Alc. Vol. mezcal encapsulates the strength of the land, the patience of time, and the nobility of a truly Oaxacan spirit.
