George Dickel Single Barrel 15 Year Old
Dickel has finally stepped up their single barrel game to reflect the impeccable aging stocks in their warehouses....almost. We snagged a set of 5 barrels all under the new 15 year label. Comically the same "problem" that plagued Dickel's 9 year barrel program continues. Once again Dickel bottles older whisky than the bottle states. The barrel codes for all 5 of our barrels indicate distillation on March 4th, 2004. We don't have exact bottling dates, but given that we selected them at the end of 2021 and they just arrived in the second week of March, 2022 - we can deduce that they were bottled just shy of their 18th birthday. The yields are tiny and we have 3 very different proofs amongst the 5 barrels. Barrel #04C04-1537 provides us with just 9 cases of whiskey at an astoundingly low cask strength of 96.2 proof.
